Cookie Policy
Effective date: 2026-08-14
The cookies Qurandia uses, what each one does, and how long it lasts.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file a site stores in your browser. It is sent back on later requests, which is how a session can be kept alive and how preferences can be remembered.
Our approach
We use only cookies that are strictly necessary for the Service to work and cookies that remember your preferences. We use no analytics, measurement, advertising or tracking cookies, and no script on our pages sets a third-party cookie.
That is why the cookie notice on the site offers no consent choice — it is purely informational.
Cookies we use
| Name | Purpose | Lifetime | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| qurandia-session | Keeps your session alive and secures form submissions | 120 minutes | Strictly necessary |
| XSRF-TOKEN | Cross-site request forgery protection on form submissions | 120 minutes | Strictly necessary |
| remember_web_* | Keeps you signed in, only when you tick "remember me" | 400 days | Strictly necessary (optional) |
| locale | The interface language you chose | 5 years | Functional |
| appearance | Light / dark / system theme preference | 1 year | Functional |
| qscale | Type scale of the Arabic text | 1 year | Functional |
Browser storage
Besides cookies, a few preferences are kept in your browser's local storage. These are never sent to the server and contain nothing that identifies you:
- appearance — theme preference.
- qscale — Arabic type scale.
- player-rate — recitation playback speed.
- cookie-notice-ack — that you dismissed the cookie notice.
Third-party cookies
There are none. Fonts are served from our own server; there is no external script, ad network, social embed or tracking pixel.
Deleting or blocking cookies
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. If you do, you will be signed out, your language choice will not be remembered, and your theme and type-scale settings will return to their defaults. Reading and searching keep working.
Changes
If we ever start using a new cookie, this page is updated and the effective date is changed.
