Sunan Ibn Majah 31184
In-book no 1351حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَعْمَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَمْعَةَ، عَنْ أُمِّهِ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ قَالَ " كَسْرُ عَظْمِ الْمَيِّتِ كَكَسْرِ عَظْمِ الْحَىِّ فِي الإِثْمِ " .
It was narrated from Umm Salamah that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “Breaking the bones of the deceased is, in sin, like breaking his bones when he is alive.”
