Sahih Muslim 12387
In-book no 5110وَحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مَالِكٍ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ " وَاكْفِئُوا الإِنَاءَ أَوْ خَمِّرُوا الإِنَاءَ " . وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ تَعْرِيضَ الْعُودِ عَلَى الإِنَاءِ .
This hadith is reported on the authority of Jabir but with a slight change of wording, and he did not mention the words: " Putting a stick across the vessel."
