Al-Buruj 85:5

Surah al-Buruj is Meccan, revealed in the period when the believers were suffering severe persecution and torture. By recalling the story of the People of the Ditch, who were burned in trenches of fire solely for their faith, it instils steadfastness in the persecuted believers of Mecca and declares that the oppressors will not escape divine punishment. The hadith related from Suhayb in Muslim recounts the details of the story of the people of the ditch.
