Al-Fajr 89:18

Surah al-Fajr is Meccan, held to belong to the early Meccan period. It warns the wealthy notables of Mecca by recalling the destruction of communities such as Ad, Thamud, and Pharaoh, who grew tyrannical in power and wealth. The surah criticizes attitudes present in Meccan society of the time: failing to honour the orphan, not urging the feeding of the poor, and devouring inheritance with greed; it closes with the glad tiding of the soul at peace returning to its Lord.
