وَقَالَ ٱلرَّسُولُ يَٰرَبِّ إِنَّ قَوْمِى ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ هَٰذَا ٱلْقُرْءَانَ مَهْجُورًا
And the Messenger has said, "O my Lord, indeed my people have taken this Qur'an as [a thing] abandoned."

And the Messenger has said, "O my Lord, indeed my people have taken this Qur'an as [a thing] abandoned."
Revelation context of the surah
Surah-wideAl-Furqan is Meccan, dated to the middle Meccan period. It answers the pagans' objections to the Quran ('tales of the ancients') and to the Prophet's ordinary human life, and in the 'servants of the Most Merciful' passage it paints a portrait of believing character.
