مَنْ عَمِلَ صَٰلِحًا فَلِنَفْسِهِۦ وَمَنْ أَسَآءَ فَعَلَيْهَا ثُمَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكُمْ تُرْجَعُونَ
Whoever does a good deed - it is for himself; and whoever does evil - it is against the self. Then to your Lord you will be returned.

Revelation context of the surah
Surah-wideAl-Jathiya is Meccan, dated to the late Meccan period. It censures those who persist in denial despite the signs in creation and those who take their own desires as a god, warning with the scene of every nation kneeling on the Day of Judgment to face its record.
