Al-Ma'un 107:3

Surah al-Ma'un is, according to the prevailing view, Meccan; some scholars said its first part came down in Mecca and the part concerning those heedless of their prayers and given to show was revealed in Medina about the hypocrites. The surah identifies the one who denies the religion (the Day of Judgment) by his pushing away the orphan and failing to urge the feeding of the poor. It condemns emptying prayer of its essence into display and withholding even the smallest act of assistance (ma'un).
