Al-Qadr 97:2

Surah al-Qadr is, according to the prevailing view, Meccan, though some scholars held it to be Medinan. Without being tied to a specific incident, it announces that the sending down of the Quran began on the Night of Decree (Laylat al-Qadr) and declares that night better than a thousand months. The surah establishes the worth of the Quran by emphasizing the majesty of the source of revelation.
