Revelation context of the surah
Surah-wideAn-Naml is Meccan, dated to the middle Meccan period. It relates the stories of Moses, David, Solomon, Salih and Lot; through the account of Solomon and the Queen of Sheba in particular, it underscores the superiority of revealed knowledge and submission to God.
