فَٱسْتَفْتِهِمْ أَلِرَبِّكَ ٱلْبَنَاتُ وَلَهُمُ ٱلْبَنُونَ
So inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Does your Lord have daughters while they have sons?

Surah-wideAs-Saffat is Meccan, dated to the middle Meccan period. It refutes pagan beliefs such as the claim that the angels are God's daughters, and recounts the stories of the prophets, including Abraham's trial of sacrificing his son.
