وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَٱتَّبَعَتْهُمْ ذُرِّيَّتُهُم بِإِيمَٰنٍ أَلْحَقْنَا بِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ وَمَآ أَلَتْنَٰهُم مِّنْ عَمَلِهِم مِّن شَىْءٍ كُلُّ ٱمْرِئٍۭ بِمَا كَسَبَ رَهِينٌ ٢١

And those who believed and whose descendants followed them in faith - We will join with them their descendants, and We will not deprive them of anything of their deeds. Every person, for what he earned, is retained.

Surah-wide

At-Tur is Meccan, dated to the early-to-middle Meccan period. It dismantles the pagans' claims that the Prophet was a poet, soothsayer or madman through a sequence of challenging questions. Bukhari records that Jubayr ibn Mut'im, before his conversion, heard the Prophet recite this surah at the sunset prayer and was profoundly moved.
