Ibrahim 14:4

Juz 13 · Page 255

And We did not send any messenger except [speaking] in the language of his people to state clearly for them, and Allah sends astray [thereby] whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

Context

Revelation context of the surah

Surah-wide

Surah Ibrahim is Meccan, dated to the late Meccan period. It treats the fate of communities that answered God's blessings with ingratitude; Abraham's prayer for Mecca and his descendants reminds the city's pagan inhabitants of its founding purpose.
