فَٱصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَقُولُونَ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ ٱلشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ ٱلْغُرُوبِ
So be patient, [O Muhammad], over what they say and exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord before the rising of the sun and before its setting,

Revelation context of the surah
Surah-wideQaf is Meccan, dated to the early-to-middle Meccan period. It answers the Meccans who deemed resurrection far-fetched by pointing to the signs in creation; the Prophet is reported to have recited this surah frequently in sermons and prayers.
