Context

Revelation context of the surah

Surah-wide

Ta-Ha is Meccan, dated to the middle Meccan period. In the account of Umar's conversion, the pages being read in his sister's house are reported to have been from this surah. It stresses that the Quran was sent down not to distress the Prophet but as a reminder, and recounts the story of Moses at length.
