The decayed bones: 'Who will revive these?'
77–83According to the reports, Ubayy ibn Khalaf (in some accounts al-'As ibn Wa'il) took a decayed bone, crumbled it before the Prophet and said, "Muhammad! Do you claim that God will bring this back to life after it has rotted and crumbled?" The Prophet replied, "Yes; and God will resurrect you and place you in the Fire." Thereupon the verses were revealed: "Does man not see that We created him from a drop, yet he becomes an open adversary? Forgetting his own creation he says, 'Who will give life to bones when they have decayed?' Say: He who created them the first time will give them life."
